Annual income tax for self-employed people
Estimate annual personal income tax under direct assessment: start with revenue, subtract expenses and contributions, apply the personal allowance and estimate the quarterly Form 130 advance payment.
The actual Social Security contribution you pay each month.
Income tax withheld by clients on your invoices. It reduces Form 130 advances, not annual tax.
How it is calculated
We calculate net profit as revenue minus expenses and contributions. Under simplified direct assessment we also subtract 5% for provisions and difficult-to-document expenses, subject to the €2,000 annual cap.
Annual income tax uses an aggregate general scale and the €5,550 personal allowance. The average Form 130 payment starts from 20% of the estimated annual base, subtracts the withholding you enter and divides the advance across four quarters.
Actual Form 130 calculations use cumulative figures from January and subtract earlier payments, withholding and possible reductions. The figure shown is an illustrative average; annual tax also excludes regional rates, family circumstances and every possible reduction.
Illustrative calculation. This is not tax or employment advice; your specific circumstances may differ.
